ASSIGNMENT: BRAND CREATION
After years of putting together campaigns and launching brands for clients, we finally wondered, “Hey, why not see what we can come up with when left to our own devices?” I mean, we do pretty snazzy logo design, our textiles have helped define some fairly successful brands and, well, it turns out we’re pretty good marketers too. Why not show the world what we can do when we are set truly free? Oh, and did I mention we’re huge collectors of vintage scarves? Well we are, and that seemed like a natural place to start. So, hello world! Welcome to LOQUITA — a brand for us, by us and about us. Why? Because we can.
GOALS & CHALLENGES
- Create an iconic brand identity that provides for long-term growth beyond launch categories into a full lifestyle brand.
- Design and implement product development for all goods across launch categories, including scarves, handbags, knitwear and shoes.
- Create a brand that would appeal to a sophisticated, edgy, independent audience and translate that brand across multiple mediums.
- Legitimately establish the brand in the fashion industry on an extremely limited budget.
- Test ground for innovative MODCo marketing concepts, including social media and team sponsorship.
RESULTS
- Developed an iconic brand strategy and design to apply to all Loquita categories.
- Opened wholesale accounts nationally at exclusive specialty retailers including Maxfield in L.A.
- Robust online sales out of the gate; second year wholesale distribution projected to gross sales in excess of $2M.
- Designing products we love and having so much fun it shouldn’t be legal.
