Housed in an old glass factory, the utterly new Shanghai Museum of Glass juxtaposes historical pieces with modern exhibitions. The interior is dark, angular and edgy, almost fractal in feel, with an emphasis on interaction. Exhibits run the gamut from glass making and ancient works to incredible interior displays. Opened in June 2011 with the goal of showcasing the "countless possibilities of glass," the museum has succeeded in honoring a classic material and tradition in a way that's completely fresh and modern. — Kate
